Slippery Elm Bark powder contains mucilage, a gel-like substance which creates a film over mucus membranes. Antioxidants also found in the slippery elm may help to reduce inflammation, relieve minor pain or discomfort and soothe irritated or inflamed skin & tissue. A common remedy with a soothing action on all mucous membranes, including the digestive tract, urinary tract, respiratory system and skin.
Adults: mix 1.5 – 3g (approximately 1-2 level 5ml medicinal measuring spoons) into a paste in a glass with a small volume of cool water then add additional water, stir briskly and drink immediately 1 – 3 times daily or as required. Separate doses by at least 2 hours.
